Copy Trades Across NinjaTrader, Tradovate & TradingView

The Multi-Platform Challenge

Futures traders rarely operate on a single platform anymore. Here's why that creates a trade copying problem — and why most copiers can't solve it.

The Scenario

You have three Rithmic-connected prop firm accounts and two Tradovate-connected accounts. You like charting on TradingView. You want to place one trade and have it copied across all five accounts simultaneously — regardless of which connection type each account uses.

The Problem

Most trade copiers are designed for a single broker connection type. They work with Rithmic accounts or Tradovate accounts — but not both at the same time. This forces traders into workarounds: running two copies of NinjaTrader, using separate machines, or managing some accounts manually while the copier handles others.

The Solution

PFACopySuite operates at the NinjaTrader 8 connection level, which means it sees every account regardless of broker type. Rithmic, CQG, Tradovate, Interactive Brokers, Schwab — all managed simultaneously within a single NinjaTrader instance, a single copier window, and a single copy configuration.

How Cross-Platform Trade Copying Works

NinjaTrader 8 supports multiple broker connections simultaneously. PFACopySuite leverages this by monitoring activity across all connections from a single interface.

Where You Place Trades
TradingView Chart and enter orders from TradingView's interface
Tradovate Use Tradovate's web or desktop platform
NinjaTrader 8 Charts, SuperDOM, or any order entry method
Place your trade from whichever platform you prefer. NinjaTrader 8 must be running in parallel.
PFACopySuite Detects & Copies

The copier monitors your designated lead account. The moment an order is placed — regardless of where it came from — PFACopySuite submits corresponding orders to every enabled follower account with each account's individual sizing, conversion, and risk settings applied.

All Followers Receive the Trade
Rithmic Accounts Prop firm and personal accounts
Tradovate Accounts Prop firm and personal accounts
CQG / IB / Schwab Any NinjaTrader-supported connection
Every account gets independently sized orders with fair randomized submission order.

Three Platforms, One Workflow

Here's how each platform fits into the PFACopySuite workflow and what you need to know about using them together.

NinjaTrader 8

The Core Platform

NinjaTrader 8 is the foundation everything runs on. PFACopySuite is a native NinjaTrader 8 add-on — it installs directly into the platform and operates within its ecosystem. All broker connections (Rithmic, CQG, Tradovate, Interactive Brokers, Schwab) are managed through NinjaTrader's connection manager.

You can place trades directly from NinjaTrader using charts, the SuperDOM, the order entry panel, or any NinjaTrader-compatible tool. NinjaTrader 8 must be running for PFACopySuite to operate, regardless of which platform you use for order entry.

Requirement: NinjaTrader 8 must always be running with your accounts connected.

Tradovate

Dual Role: Connection + Order Entry

Tradovate serves two purposes. First, it's a broker connection type — many prop firms provide Tradovate-connected accounts, and NinjaTrader connects to them through its Tradovate adapter. These accounts appear alongside your Rithmic or CQG accounts in PFACopySuite.

Second, Tradovate has its own web and desktop trading interface. Orders placed through Tradovate's platform are detected by NinjaTrader and copied by PFACopySuite — just like orders placed from NinjaTrader itself.

Key point: Rithmic and Tradovate accounts run simultaneously in the same NinjaTrader instance and the same copy configuration.

TradingView

Order Entry Platform

Many traders prefer TradingView for its charting tools and interface. When your brokerage account is connected to both TradingView and NinjaTrader, orders placed through TradingView are detected at the NinjaTrader connection level and PFACopySuite copies them to all follower accounts.

This means you can chart, analyze, and enter orders entirely within TradingView while PFACopySuite handles the replication across every connected account in NinjaTrader — Rithmic, Tradovate, CQG, or any combination.

Key point: TradingView is an order entry option. NinjaTrader 8 must be running in parallel for copying to work.

What Makes Multi-Platform Copying Reliable

Cross-platform trade copying introduces complexities that single-broker copiers never have to deal with. Here's how PFACopySuite handles them.

Fair Order Processing

Randomized submission order ensures no account — regardless of broker type — is systematically first or last. A Rithmic account and a Tradovate account have equal chances at the best fill on every trade.

Cross-Broker Mismatch Detection

Position monitoring works across all broker types simultaneously. If a Tradovate account falls out of sync with the lead Rithmic account — due to a rejected order, partial fill, or connection issue — PFACopySuite flags it immediately.

ATM Strategies Across Brokers

ATM strategy replication works across broker types. In AutoDetect mode, the lead account's ATM settings are detected and applied to followers regardless of connection type. In Template mode, followers receive ATM brackets even when the lead trades from TradingView or Tradovate — platforms that don't natively carry ATM data. Protective orders scale correctly per account.

IntelliSize Across Connections

IntelliSize smart contract conversion works identically across all broker types. Whether a follower is on Rithmic or Tradovate, the optimal mini/micro allocation is calculated independently based on that account's sizing settings.

Independent Connection Monitoring

Each broker connection is monitored independently. If your Tradovate connection drops but Rithmic stays up, copying continues for Rithmic accounts while the Tradovate accounts are flagged and excluded until reconnected.

Per-Account Sizing Across Brokers

Every follower account has its own position sizing configuration — Ratio, Fixed, Account Value, NotionalValue, or PositionSize. A small Tradovate-connected funded account can receive 1 contract while a large Rithmic-connected personal account receives 5, all from the same lead trade.

Running Multiple Broker Connections? Consider a VPS

When you're maintaining simultaneous Rithmic, Tradovate, and other connections, a stable infrastructure matters. Many multi-platform traders run PFACopySuite on a VPS for 24/7 reliability and consistent execution across all connections. PFA has partnered with QuantVPS for infrastructure optimized specifically for NinjaTrader and trade copying — including sub-millisecond latency to CME Group.

Frequently Asked Questions About Multi-Platform Trade Copying

Common questions about copying trades across NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and TradingView.

Can I really copy trades between Rithmic and Tradovate accounts at the same time?
Yes. NinjaTrader 8 supports multiple broker connections simultaneously, and PFACopySuite operates across all of them. You can have Rithmic-connected accounts and Tradovate-connected accounts active in the same NinjaTrader instance, managed within the same copy configuration, with independent settings per account.
How does TradingView order entry work with PFACopySuite?
When your brokerage account is connected to both TradingView and NinjaTrader 8, orders placed through TradingView's interface appear at the NinjaTrader connection level. PFACopySuite monitors this connection and copies the orders to all enabled follower accounts — exactly the same way it handles orders placed directly in NinjaTrader. NinjaTrader 8 must be running in parallel for this to work.
Do I need separate machines or NinjaTrader instances for different broker connections?
No. PFACopySuite manages all broker connections within a single NinjaTrader 8 instance on a single machine. Rithmic, CQG, Tradovate, Interactive Brokers, and Schwab accounts can all be connected and copied simultaneously without any duplication of software or hardware.
What if one broker connection drops but the others stay up?
PFACopySuite monitors each connection independently. If your Tradovate connection drops but Rithmic remains active, copying continues for all Rithmic accounts while the disconnected Tradovate accounts are flagged and excluded. Once the connection is restored, the position mismatch detection system verifies that all accounts are back in sync.
Can my lead account be on Tradovate and my followers on Rithmic?
Yes. The lead and follower accounts can be on any combination of supported broker connections. You could lead from Tradovate and copy to Rithmic, lead from Rithmic and copy to Tradovate and Interactive Brokers, or any other mix. PFACopySuite doesn't restrict which connection types can be used in which role.
Does instrument conversion work across different broker connections?
Yes. Both Convert mode and IntelliSize mode work identically regardless of the follower account's broker connection type. You can trade ES on your Rithmic lead account and have a Tradovate follower receive MES through Convert mode, or receive an optimized ES+MES split through IntelliSize — the conversion logic is applied per account independently of broker type.
Can I organize different broker connections into separate tabs?
Yes. PFACopySuite's multi-tab system lets you organize accounts however you prefer. You could put all Rithmic accounts in one tab and Tradovate accounts in another, or organize by prop firm, by strategy, or by any other grouping. Each tab has its own independent lead account, follower settings, emergency stop, and flatten controls.

One Copier. Every Platform. Every Account.

Stop managing broker connections separately. PFACopySuite bridges NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and TradingView so every account stays synchronized from a single window.
